With the appointment of a full time Partnerships Manager in 2017, the College made a fundamental transformation to the way the we engage with the community.
This has already provided opportunities for us to develop mutually beneficial relationships with business, universities, public institutions and governments, with the aim of enhancing learning for students. It is clear from research that students benefit from working with practitioners and from working on real world projects that deliver authentic products to authentic audiences. Partnerships with the business, education and civic communities will open access to our students to experience the relevance and meaning of their learning in powerful ways. Likewise, teachers will improve the relevance of their programs by engaging with practitioners in their field.
By partnering with educational institutions and other registered training organisations, the college can explore multiple credentials and pathways to learning. Partnerships also have the potential to enhance the profile of the college and present our students’ work to a broader audience.
When students feel that their learning is real, and relates to the world in which they live, they will become deeply engaged and motivated. We will bring the world to the classroom, and the classroom to the world.
