App of the Week - Aurasma

This week’s ‘App of the Week’ is Aurasma. Aurasma is an augmented reality app, which basically means that it is a live, virtual reality view of an object, image or video. A picture is taken and then an Aura/overlay is added and when that first image is scanned with the Aurasma app, a new image or video will appear overlaying the original, providing further information and explanation. An example can be experienced by students who visit the library and scan a book on the ‘Love Books’ table, which will then produce a website book review or video book trailer.
