Digital Media in our Classrooms
With the growing use of digital media in our classrooms, it has never been so important to help our students understand their responsibilities online and the implications of this on their lives now and in the future. Our commitment as a college to teaching these lessons in digital citizenship was highlighted in a recent Ten Eyewitness News story called ‘Web Wise’. You can view the report at http://tenplay.com.au/news/sydney/2014/2/7/web-wise.
This report was filmed during an iPlan lesson with two Year 9 classes who were learning about their digital footprint and the impact that can have on their lives. The students represented the college well with a great level of involvement in the lesson and filming. Special thanks must go to Nandita Jagota and Farkanda Russull who were chosen to be in one-on-one interviews with news reporter Jessica Turner, answering questions about how they feel knowing what they now do about their digital footprints.
