Year 10 took public transport to the city to attend the Japan Foundation where they participating in a Japanese language immersion program designing their "Dream Trip to Japan". They also learnt about traditional designs and their meanings, before doing some hands on shibori-zome dying. The day was rounded out with Japanese retail therapy at Daiso and a yummy Japanese lunch.

During the holidays, the Ancient History class had the opportunity to go on a day trip to Melbourne to visit the Ancient Rome Exhibit at Melbourne Museum. Starting very early at Penrith Station, the students accompanied by Ms Esler, Mrs Vella and Mrs Chan made their way to Sydney Airport to catch a flight to Melbourne. On arriving to Melbourne, they took advantage of the free tram service to see the sights of Melbourne CBD before making their way to the Museum. The museum displayed a number of artefacts that are on loan from museums in Italy. These were on display amongst interactive displays that portrayed everything from Roman Baths to Gladiatorial events in the arena. Many of the statues and other artefacts on display were of key figures in the Julio-Claudian unit, which made a very good introduction to the HSC Course. Afterwards, students and teachers enjoyed some very high quality pizza that felt in keeping with the Italian theme of the trip. After lunch, it was then time to head back to the airport to make their way home.

The College is delighted to congratulate the Class of 2027 as they officially receive their Year 12 cardigans. The girls were filled with excitement and pride as they put on their cardigans for the first time. More than an addition to the school uniform, these cardigans will serve as a cherished keepsake of their school journey at CCC and a meaningful token of the memories they will create in the year ahead. Receiving them marks a significant milestone, signifying the formal commencement of their final year in high school. The College extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Year 12 2027.

Please join us to celebrate our talented Creative Arts students. The annual Showcase will be held on Thursday 29 October. Doors open at 4pm for parents and friends to view the Visual Arts Exhibition. The Dance and Drama Showcase will be held in the Performance Centre and the Music Showcase will be held upstairs in the Music rooms. Both of these Showcases will commence at 4.30pm.

We were delighted to hear that Rachel I from our Year 12 Music 1 class has been nominated for possible inclusion in the Encore Concert at the Sydney Opera House on Monday 22 February 2027 for her vocal Performances in the recent HSC Music examinations. Having a student nominated for the HSC Encore Showcase is an incredible achievement and we congratulate Rachel on achieving this rare honour. She will now submit a video recording of her four performances from the examination for consideration by a select committee for possible inclusion in the ENCORE concert. ENCORE presents a selection of outstanding major works by HSC Music students in NSW including performance, composition and musicology. It will be held at the Sydney Opera House on Monday 22 February 2027. We wish Rachel well with the remainder of her HSC exams and look forward to hearing positive news about her possible inclusion in the ENCORE concert.
