On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, Caroline Chisholm College participated in the PDSSSC Opens Basketball Gala Day at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre. Drawn in Pool B, the team made a strong start, winning their first three games against Cerdon, St John Paul II, and St Columba’s. St Agnes’s determined performance handed us our first defeat, turning the final game against OLMC into a must-win showdown. Both teams came out firing, refusing to give an inch, and after a nail-biting first half, the game could have gone either way. At the final whistle, the outcome was decided in the final moments, with Caroline Chisholm College holding on for a thrilling 18–16 victory. Topping Pool B, we then faced St Andrews College. With an eight-point lead at halftime, it looked promising — but St Andrews came back strong and ran us down, snatching the win in the second half by just one point. We finished equal third overall — a strong performance that was tinged with a sense of “what if.” Congratulations to Zara, Annabelle, Ebony, Kelsey, Gizelle, Mia, Olivia, Maddox, and Maddison for displaying determination, passion, and exceptional sportsmanship throughout the tournament. I am so proud of your efforts and willingness to represent the College over the last few years. A massive thank you to Tia for her invaluable support in managing the team and the scoring bench. Chisholm on three. Mr Mills 🏀👏

Last week, 8 HSIE 3 spent the afternoon creating their very own Viking weapons using air dry clay. Students used their knowledge of Viking weapons to draw inspiration for their very own designs. The girls also had the option of illustrating their own shields. It was an enjoyable afternoon activity for all!

Last night five students from Yr 11 through to Yr 9 represented the college as part of the Captivate Choir in the Commissioning Ceremony for Beginning Teachers & System Leaders at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta. The students led the congregation through liturgical responses and selected hymns tailored to the event. The students who represented our college in this significant Diocesan ceremony were: Gianna G and Anna P from Yr 11, Angelina G from Yr 10, Garbrielle G and Anjali P from Yr 9. Many thanks to these students who also attended two rehearsals and spent time rehearsing their parts individually.

Year 7 Camp – Day 3 at Great Aussie Bush Camp, Kincumber 🌿 We finished Day 2 with a relaxing movie night, the perfect way to end another great day. This morning, the sun was out and shining as we gathered for our group photo after breakfast before heading off for our final activities. Throughout the camp, students have enthusiastically engaged in every experience. Standout favourites have included damper making, canoeing, the Giant Swing and the Survivor Challenge. It has been wonderful to see such positive energy, teamwork and new connections forming across the year group. Experiences like these are valuable in helping every student gain confidence, develop skills and come together as a year group. Very happy faces boarded the buses, with new friendships made and plenty of lasting memories to take home.

Western or work? ACU or the ADF? TAFE or travel? Uni or uncertainty? There are many big questions to answer for our students approaching the end of their schooling. So today, we met with our Year 12s to equip them with the tools and guidance they need to navigate their decisions. We know that for many students, the future can feel uncertain - and figuring out what comes next isn’t always easy. Our goal is for every student to leave Caroline Chisholm College with a clear and bespoke post-school plan - and today the Class of 2026 were given the roadmap to support that journey with tailored resources to guide the way. From UAC, university pathways and early entry, to TAFE, college, the workforce and gap years, this milestone session laid a strong foundation for what’s ahead. With so many exciting possibilities, we’re committed to giving students ongoing support and personalised coaching every step of the way to make the decision that's the right match to their hopes and aspirations.

Year 8 Engineering students took on the ultimate Egg Drop Challenge, designing and building an engineered solution to protect a fragile egg from breaking when dropped from a height. This task wasn’t just about keeping an egg intact, it was about applying real-world engineering principles. Students explored how gravity, force, speed and energy interact, and designed systems to: - Slow descent using air resistance - Absorb impact through cushioning - Distribute force using structural frames - Increase stopping time to reduce impact force So wonderful to see the creativity, teamwork and critical thinking on display!

Our Year 8 students generously stayed back after school to take part in the St Vinnies Sandwich Making initiative, preparing sandwiches for members of the community experiencing hardship. Working together with enthusiasm, they demonstrated compassion and a strong sense of service. This simple act of kindness reflected our school’s commitment to social justice and caring for others. Through their efforts, students helped support the important outreach work of St Vinnies. We thank our Year 8 volunteers for their generosity and willingness to serve. #FaithInAction

The first Senior Bake Sale for Project Compassion was a great success, raising $823 through the combined efforts of our Year 10 and Year 11 students. Students generously baked and brought a wonderful variety of treats, showcasing their talents and generosity. The event reflected the strong sense of community and compassion within our school. In supporting this cause, students truly lived out the charism of our patron saint, Caroline Chisholm, by standing in solidarity with those in need. Until the second Bake Sale next Tuesday! #FaithInAction

Last night, Kara and Adam from our Partnerships and Pathways Team hosted an informative and timely Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) webinar for Year 10–12 students and families, which was presented by Trudy Noller, Manager of Community Engagement at Universities Admissions Centre. At this critical point in the year, the session provided valuable insights into subject selection and post-school planning, covering key areas including the role of UAC, the undergraduate application process, the ATAR, Educational Access Scheme, Equity Scholarships, and opportunities such as UAC's Early Entry Program, the Schools Recommendation Scheme. Thank you to the many students and families who attended and engaged so thoughtfully, and to Trudy for such a comprehensive and practical presentation. We are very grateful for your time, expertise and ongoing support of our College. A recording of the webinar will be emailed to Year 10-12 students and families today.
