With such a diversity of pathways to explore, today’s Aviation Careers event at Western Sydney International Airport gave some of our Year 11s the opportunity to discover where their futures might take flight. The ten students completed an EOI process outlining their interest in attending this unique event - and they left with plenty of inspiration! Students heard from WSI's Chief People Officer Kirby Grattan and Chief Operating Officer Matt Duffy about the incredible scope of opportunities connected to the soon-to-open airport terminal and surrounding business precinct. The program included targeted information sessions from the airport’s partners that showcased the huge variety of careers linked to this transformational project for Western Sydney. Students also had the opportunity to meet prospective employers, ask questions and gain valuable insights into careers connected to aviation - including airport operations, border services, biosecurity, air traffic management, cargo, freight operations, education and more. A huge thank you to all the partners who shared their industry insights and career pathways today, including ACESGroup, Airservices Australia, Wilson Parking Australia, Australian Federal Police, WSI Cargo, Star Aviation and Western Sydney University - The College. We also extend our sincere appreciation to WSI's Eva Atkins, Asha Frost, Claire Kersivien and Courtney Keijzers for the opportunity to be part of such a valuable experience on the eve of the airport’s launch in just a few months’ time!

The students and their teacher Mrs Blakers had a fabulous time meeting Courtney Keijzers and Claire Kersivien recently, to talk about their project and take part in the shoot!

Congratulations to Chelsey T-S on her outstanding achievement of being selected in the 2026 NSWCCC U16s Rugby League Team! Chelsey’s dedication, talent and hard work have earned her the opportunity to represent NSWCCC at the upcoming tournament in Coffs Harbour from 3–9 July. We are incredibly proud of Chelsey and wish her all the very best.

Year 11 Food Technology students completed a practical lesson making mini lemon meringue tarts as part of their 'Food Quality' unit. Throughout the practical, students applied their understanding of the functional properties of food in cooking, demonstrating skills in dextrinisation, aeration, gelatinisation and caramelisation. A delicious way to combine theory with hands-on learning!

Today our Year 10 students attended the Greater Western Sydney Careers Market at the Penrith Regional Valley Sports Centre - an incredible opportunity to explore a huge range of universities, TAFE pathways, colleges, employers and industry groups all under one roof. We really value this annual event as an important part of students’ pathways decision-making, especially as they prepare to begin their Year 11 and 12 subject selections and think more seriously about life beyond school. From discovering new career ideas to asking questions and stepping outside their comfort zones, our students embraced the day with positivity, curiosity and enthusiasm. We were so proud of the way Year 10 represented our College and the mature approach they showed throughout the event. Their future is full of exciting possibilities! Throughout the month of May, our school community has embraced a special time of Marian devotion by gathering in prayer every Monday at lunch. Students and staff have come together to pray the Rosary, seeking Mary’s guidance, peace and intercession in our daily lives. May reminds us to follow Mary’s example of faith, humility and trust in God as we continue to grow in love and service to others. All students and staff are warmly invited to join us for our final Rosary prayer gathering next Monday, 25th May as we conclude the Month of May together in prayer and reflection. #Rosary #FaithInAction

This initiative reminds us that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others. The prestigious international ceramics festival, Clay Gulgong, occurred over the last school holidays. Many people and master ceramic artists travelled from all around the world and Australia to participate in workshops and exhibitions. For a number of years now, Mrs King and I have been closely involved in the festival. Our roles are to coordinate and curate the K- 12 exhibition of student work and the Digital Showcase which is a slide compilation of student ceramic works from schools across Australia. The exhibition was judged by renowned international ceramicist, Keith Brymer Jones, host of the popular UK program, The Great Pottery Throwdown. He praised the standard of the student entries for their skill and their creativity. Caroline Chisholm College was represented by the following students: Zoe M, Lara K, Sophie E, Lara H, Trinity D, Hasrat B, and Remy T. The exhibition attracted a huge audience including many artists and people commented that they couldn’t believe that students, like those from our school, could produce such sophisticated and high standard works. Significant prizes were provided by the Clay Gulgong festival sponsors and it is my pleasure to announce the winners from Caroline Chisholm College: Stage 5 First Place awarded to Sophie E of Year 11 for her “Notanda“ BRT sculptural form. Stage 6 Highly Commended awarded to Hasrat B for her ceramic BOW, “Heirlooms”. Stage 6 Judges Commendation awarded to Trinity D for her ceramic BOW “Terraforms” Mrs Karen King and I would like to thank all the students for their effort and dedication in the creation of their ceramic forms and for so proudly representing Caroline Chisholm College. Last week, the Year 11 Hospitality 1 students were busy developing their skills in food handling, hygiene, and safe work practices in the kitchen. 🍽️ As part of their learning, they put their knowledge into action by preparing chicken pasta carbonara, demonstrating their understanding of correct food preparation, hygiene procedures and teamwork. It was wonderful to see their confidence continue to grow as they applied their skills in a practical kitchen environment. Well done Year 11 Hospitality 1 on your hard work and enthusiasm!

Year 10 History students participated in an immersive learning experience exploring Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War. This year marked the 20th visit from Vin and Nancy Cosgrove, who once again shared their valuable insights with the College. The day concluded with Brett Hunt’s powerful musical monologue, Dusted Off.

Both year 12 Hospitality classes successfully ran their own café service last week, with their very first guests being our Year 11 Hospitality students. It was a huge success and a wonderful opportunity for students to apply their food and beverage and customer service skills in a real service environment. Although there were a few technical hiccups along the way, the Year 12s handled everything with grace, remained calm under pressure, and continued to maintain high standards across food preparation, beverage service and customer service. It was wonderful to see their professionalism, teamwork and confidence shine through. A fantastic start to the café experience. Well done Year 12! 👏✨

Our Year 10 Food Technology students created delicious Teriyaki Chicken Poke Bowls as part of their practical learning experiences. Students demonstrated a range of food preparation skills including safe knife techniques, food presentation, flavour balancing and hygienic food handling practices. Through this practical task, students explored the importance of nutritious meal design while developing confidence and independence in the kitchen. A fantastic effort from all students! The final dishes looked and tasted amazing!
