It’s always wonderful to welcome back our Alumnae, and yesterday we were proud to have Ana Setiu Tuala from Western Sydney University's Future Student Engagement Team return to CCC to help our students discover the many reasons to study at Western! Our latest 'Discover the UNIverse' Lunch and Learn was packed with students and big ideas as Ana explored the huge range of courses available, how to apply, early entry through the HSC True Reward program, pathway opportunities including The College diplomas, scholarships and so much more. Ana also stayed on to meet in one-on-one consultations with some of our Year 11 Fast Forward students, who jumped at the opportunity to chat about their post-school plans, aspirations and future pathways. A huge thank you to Ana and the WSU Future Students Team for sharing their time, knowledge and encouragement with our students. Take a look at our short video featuring Year 11 students Lily, Iraj and Crystel as they share what they discovered about studying at WSU!

Our iconic green chairs might take the spotlight for the Year 12 Careers High Tea each year, but every other day of the week they’re where big dreams, future plans and career conversations happen. 💚 Careers HQ was absolutely buzzing at lunchtime this week, with plenty of students popping in to chat about their hopes, aspirations and next steps for the future… with a little chocolate motivation thrown in too! From uni pathways to traineeships, dream jobs to “I’m still figuring it out” conversations - students from Years 7-12 are always welcome in our Pathways space, where Kara and Adam are ready to help explore opportunities, pathways and all the possibilities ahead.

We were delighted to celebrate our Mother’s Day Liturgy this week, with an incredible turnout from our community. It was a beautiful and meaningful occasion as we gathered to honour and give thanks for the mothers, grandmothers, and special women in our lives. The liturgy was filled with reflection, gratitude, and joy, and it was wonderful to see so many families joining us for this special celebration. Your presence helped make the morning truly memorable. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, and to those who helped organise such a heartfelt celebration. Wishing all our mums and mother figures a very happy Mother’s Day!

Our school is participating in the Choosing Your Uni National Virtual Expo, a free online event held during National Careers Week. Across the week, students and parents can explore live and on-demand sessions from Australian universities, government organisations, and real students, covering topics like career direction, pathways, funding, scholarships, and student life. The Expo is run by Choosing Your Uni, an independent platform that helps students figure out what to study and where. It's not affiliated with any university — the guidance is unbiased and student-first. Students and Parents can register via the unique code that has been emailed today and also via our Careers Canvas page (for students).

Our latest Lunch & Learn gave students an exciting glimpse into university life, as we welcomed Noel, Akshita and Brodie from Macquarie University. With a near capacity audience, the team shared a comprehensive and engaging overview of what makes Macquarie such a great study destination - from diverse courses and pathway programs, to diploma options, early entry, adjustment factors, scholarships, global opportunities and vibrant campus life. Students heard first-hand why these students chose Macquarie and what they love most about the university experience. Check out the video to hear their insights and advice for our students considering their own future pathways!

Our students proudly represented the school at the PDSSSC Volleyball Gala Day last week demonstrating fantastic teamwork, determination, and resilience throughout the day. Both the Junior and Intermediate teams played with great spirit, supported one another, and showed excellent sportsmanship on and off the court. Their positive attitudes and willingness to keep pushing, no matter the challenge, were a credit to our school community. A big thank you to our parents and families who came along to support the teams, it made a real difference on the day. We would also like to acknowledge Mrs McElroy for her organisation of the event. Well done to all players for your effort and commitment, we are proud of you!

We are getting busier here at the farm! The Murray Grey steer for the Greater Sydney Schools Cattle Competition (GSSCC) was allocated today and he is now on site with his companion steer (also a Murray Grey). How exciting to have a black Murray Grey for this year's competition! Welcome to CCC Woody (W27) and Walter (W53).

7HSIE1 students experimented today with the preservation process involved in Ancient Egyptian mummification. We created our own natron salt to preserve the flesh of an apple and in ten day's time we will see the effectiveness of this technique! Ancient Egyptians needed to preserve the physical body so that the deceased person could enter the happy place called the Field of Reeds in their afterlife.
