We are incredibly proud of three amazing Year 10 students — Aliyah, Jasmine and Chloe — who have officially graduated from a game-changing STEM Robotics and Coding Program in partnership with Australian Catholic University and MECA | Mount Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency. These dedicated students invested one week of their school holidays to immerse themselves in a hands-on, future-focused learning experience, exploring real-world applications of STEM in a university setting. Not only were they supported by our College’s Pathways Coaches and the wonderful MECA team, but they have been expertly mentored by ACU’s highly experienced academic staff from the Business School's Information Technology & Systems Discipline. Throughout the program, students worked with cutting-edge technology and developed essential transferable skills including: digital literacy, critical and creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork and collaboration. The initiative has clearly given these students confidence and agency to shape their future career pathways into STEM. The innovative program culminated in a special graduation ceremony last Friday, attended by students' parents and families, ACU and MECA executive staff, the Deputy Mayor of Blacktown City Council, Blacktown Council members and Stephen Bali, the Member for Blacktown, and was even covered by Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)! A huge thank you to our partners in this program at ACU and MECA and congratulations to our amazing students for stepping up, showing courage and curiosity, and representing our College with pride! During Term 2, the Sistas Yarning Circle have been working together to learn the ancient craft of weaving. To celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC, they wove 50 rings which they then used to create an amazing artwork, titled, "Voices like mountains, Future like sky". The piece draws inspiration from the story of the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains - a site of deep cultural significance and a symbol of strength, family, and connection to Country. The use of blue throughout the artwork reflects the mountains and sky, and symbolises calm, wisdom, and unity. The Sistas Yarning Circle presented their artwork to the College as part of our NAIDOC assembly. Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese

Whilst some students are relaxing during their holiday break, Caroline Chisholm Year 11 students Sienna and Jenny have been taking part in a university-level Nursing & Midwifery module through our partnership with ACU and the Uni Step Up program, held at the Blacktown Campus. We also have students undertaking Criminology and Exercise & Sports Science programs too. Uni Step Up gives Year 11 students the opportunity to experience university life by studying two first-year university subjects. It’s a great way to get a head start on university, build academic skills, and explore potential degree pathways. Students who successfully complete both units may be eligible for an early offer into a corresponding ACU course. #cspd #australiancatholicuniversity

During this second week of the school holidays, three of our Year 10s (Aliyah, Chloe and Jasmine) have joined with other students from Western Sydney at a week long Coding and Robotics Holiday Program held at ACU Blacktown. The students are being immersed into the world of Robotics which highlights how maths forms the basis of all coding by bringing to life the importance of Pythagoras theorem, algebra, algorithms, angles and binary coding. Later this week students will come together with their families for the Community Science Day and prepare for their intergroup coding competition. On Friday the group will graduate in front of dignitaries from ACU, Blacktown Council and local MPs. A big thank you to ACU and MECA for this amazing program. #cspd #australiancatholicuniversity #mtdruittethniccommunityagency
