Students compete at All School Triathlon

11 Mar 2014

CCC Glenmore Park Triathlon team

On Thursday 6th March and Friday 7th March, 18 students from Caroline Chisholm College competed in the All Schools Triathlon individual and teams’ event at the International Regatta Centre, Penrith.

Over the days there were over 2000 students participating from across the state, with many schools showing their strength in the sheer numbers of teams they entered. All the Caroline Chisholm students who participated were exceptionally well behaved and represented the school with pride.

They were competitive and diligent in their individual races and performed to the very best of their abilities over the two days.

The school entered one individual competitor and ten teams.

Our individual representative was Danielle Snyder of Year 8. The six teams entered were spread across the junior, intermediate and senior sections. On average competitors had to swim 400 metres, ride 10 kms and run 4 kms.

Our results were as follows:

  • Junior teams – 39th and 42nd in the Catholic Schools category
  • Intermediate team – 20th in the Catholic Schools category
  • Senior teams – 7th, 13th and 19th in the Catholic Schools category
  • Danielle Snyder – 29th in the Catholic Schools category

The complete Caroline Chisholm triathlon team was as follows:

Isabella Ryan, Ciara Morgan, Madeleine Rushton, Lucy Harris, Madeline Haydon, Casey O’Sullivan, Sabrina Holloway, Lily Danby, Kaitlin Patterson, Georgia Wood, Danielle Snyder, Abbey Tricot, Sam Arnold, Jennifer McDonald, Lauren Dahl, Jaime-Lee Wemmerslager, Riley O’Connor and Sydney Harris.

Thank you to the parents and supporters who attended on the day. I look forward to future successes next year in the 2015 triathlon.

The Junior CCC Rep soccer team played Penola last Thursday in the PDSSSC Thursday sport competition at Jamison Park. With perfect conditions for football, the girls attacked the game with determination and enjoyment despite being down players. Their attack in the first half was terrific putting pressure on the Penola defence and we were unlucky not to score with the teams level 0-0 at half time. The girls played well again in an even matched second half. However, a late goal to Penola saw the team go down 0-1. Despite the loss, the team is showing improvement in every game.

Year 10 Japanese students recently attended seminars at Macquarie University learning about the exciting pathways that learning Japanese opens up for in the future. Students learnt about short and long term exchanges, how to do well in the HSC, options for studying the language at university, studying at University in Japan, working holidays and the employment opportunities offered through the JET scheme. We were thrilled to welcome back College Alumnae Larissa Dimech (Class of 2020), who popped in for a special mentoring chat with two of our aspiring pastry chefs, Rhianna and Kate. Larissa generously shared her inspiring journey — from her beginnings at TAFE NSW studying a Certificate III in Cake and Pastry, to her impressive work as a Pastry Chef, and now her exciting move into food science and technology. Larissa offered invaluable advice, insights and encouragement for breaking into this creative industry. We're so grateful for her time and generosity — especially as she prepares for her next big adventure: a three-month work experience trip to Europe as a 2024 Global Footprints Scholar! Bon voyage, Larissa — we can’t wait to see where your talent and passion take you next! Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese

On Thursday 19 June 2025, the Caroline Chisholm College U16 Nine-a-side Rugby League team recorded a convincing 30–0 victory over Delaney College. While the scoreboard reflects a dominant performance, it was the team’s discipline, communication, and relentless defensive effort that truly set them apart. Every player embraced their role, with strong tackles, smart ball movement, and cohesive teamwork contributing to a well-deserved win. It has been remarkable to witness the growing confidence and skill development of the team’s newest members. Special mention goes to Harlow for her player-of-the-match performance, showcasing energy, strength, and leadership on the field, and to Delilah for her impressive try-scoring efforts. Our next game will be in term three where we look to continue our unbeaten run. @Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese

Our year 7 student, Harmoni Hill will represent NSW for the first time at the 2025 Australian Gymnastics Championships during these upcoming school holidays. Harmoni recently competed at the Senior State Championships, where she not only earned her spot on the NSW team for Level 8 but was also awarded the Artistry Award for the entire level – a huge honour that recognised her outstanding floor routine, which also earned her the title of Junior Floor Champion of NSW. We wish Harmoni the best of luck in this upcoming competition and can't wait to hear all about her achievements. Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese

Our Year 11 Hospitality 2 students are preparing tasty Marinated Chicken Club Sandwiches as part of their Module 2: Hygiene and Food Safety unit. 🥪✨ To maintain strict food safety standards, students complete and submit: ✅ Coolroom/Refrigerator Check Sheet ✅ Recipe Check Sheet (covering preparation, cooking, assembly, and service) Both check sheets align with the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system. Students monitor the coolroom and recipe steps to recognise, monitor, and report potential hazards, ensuring safe food handling from start to finish. Great job, Year 11, on putting theory into practice and prioritising food safety! 👏 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese

A unique Lunch and Learn session gave our students a captivating look into the world of protecting our community, with the NSW Police Force. We were thrilled to welcome Senior Constable Steven Stopford and Constable Isabella Bird — especially exciting as Isabella is one of our very own Alumnae, now serving the community! Our guests took students on a journey through the many career pathways in the police force — from General Duties and Detectives to Forensics, Highway Patrol, PolAir and more — showcasing just a few of the 200+ roles available. They also broke down the process of joining the force, covering the online and practical training, fitness and skill requirements, application steps, salary and benefits, and the real-life challenges and rewards of the job. A big thank you to Steven and Isabella for inspiring the next generation to consider a career that truly makes a difference. #NSWPolice #LunchAndLearn #CareerPathways #MakeADifference #StudentOpportunities #FutureReady #youthcommand #youthcommandnswpf @Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese
