What a brilliant start to the season for our Junior Volleyball representative team! Chisholm faced Nagle College in Round 1 of the PDSSSC competition. Despite it being the first time this group had played together, the girls delivered an outstanding performance, with strong and consistent serving paving the way for our first win. Nagle provided tough competition, but our fighting spirit, constant encouragement of one another and impressive teamwork saw us secure a thrilling 2 sets to 1 victory. Bring on next Thursday! 🏐

Today our Year groups gathered in our College Chapel to celebrate Ash Wednesday through prayerful liturgies, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. Ash Wednesday is a significant day for Catholics as it calls us to pause, reflect and begin our journey towards Easter through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. During these liturgies, students were invited to consider meaningful ways they can prepare their hearts for Easter throughout Lent - by growing in compassion, seeking forgiveness, and supporting those in need. May this season be a time of renewal and reflection for all in our College community.

Last Friday, we celebrated the outstanding results of our High Achievers at a special College Assembly - and we recorded a short interview with our 2025 ATAR Dux, Nishika Talusani, who earned the highest ATAR in the College’s history at just 16 years of age. Throughout her HSC journey, Nishika showed remarkable diligence, determination and resilience, finishing with an incredible 1st in Course for PDHPE. We hope you enjoy this short highlights package and chat with Nishika.

On Friday, our College community gathered for one of the most inspiring events on our calendar: the High Achievers Assembly. It was a privilege to welcome back and celebrate the Class of 2025, specifically those who placed in the top 10% of the State. Whether through an outstanding ATAR, a Band 6 result, or a Distinguished Performance in a major work, these young women have shown what is possible through sustained commitment and a drive for personal excellence.

Our school community came together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday with plenty of pancakes, smiles and generosity! It was a wonderful way to mark the beginning of Lent while supporting a meaningful cause. All proceeds from our Shrove Tuesday fundraiser will go directly to Project Compassion 2026, Caritas Australia’s annual Lenten appeal. Project Compassion supports vulnerable communities around the world by providing access to education, healthcare, clean water, sustainable livelihoods and emergency relief. By participating in this simple but joyful tradition, our students lived out the Gospel call to love our neighbour and care for those most in need. Thank you to everyone who contributed, volunteered and supported this initiative. Together, we are making a difference, one pancake at a time! #ServeShareSupport"

What would a scholarship mean for your career? We recently caught up with our impressive CSPD Teacher Scholarship recipients at the College to celebrate their incredible achievement — and what an inspiring group they are! Lilli-Maree, Ava, Jasmine, Eva and Sylvia joined us for a special interview where they reflected on what this scholarship means for their future in education. Each spoke about their passion for teaching, their commitment to making a difference, and their excitement for the journey ahead. Afterwards, they shared in conversations with our very proud Principal, Mrs Tania Cairns, Partnerships & Pathways Coach, Adam MacNamara, and a number of their teachers - all of whom are so excited to see these talented young women take their next steps. This scholarship is more than financial support — it’s also an investment in their calling to serve, lead and inspire in Catholic education. Our College looks forward to following their journey as they continue their studies and, one day, return to teach in the Parramatta Diocese… and hopefully back here at CCC! Congratulations again, Lilli-Maree, Ava, Jasmine, Eva and Sylvia - your future classrooms are very lucky to have you.

Today our Year 9 Food Technology 1 students completed their first practical lesson — making Chocolate Bliss Balls! 🍫 The focus for this lesson was not just cooking, but developing strong kitchen foundations: 🧼 Safety 🧤 Hygiene 📋 Organisation Students did an excellent job setting up their workspaces, following procedures carefully and working cooperatively as a team. It was great to see everyone taking responsibility for clean benches, correct equipment use and professional behaviour in the kitchen. This practical also links to our new unit on Nutrition, where students will learn how foods can be designed as healthy snack options — perfect for school lunches! A fantastic start to the course — well done Year 9! 👏
