Staff and students at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College are well and truly seeing double, with five sets of twins starting this year.
Principal Tania Cairns said she has also only ever seen three sets of twins in one year group before.
“We have had two and I think one year there was three, but not five, so this is really a first, it’s very unusual,” she said.
“I don’t quite know what was in the water back in time when they were conceived, but there was certainly something in the water there!”
With four sets identical and one fraternal, Cairns said having that many twins at the school overall has been just as special for the kids as it is the school.
“Having gathered together last week, they certainly felt like it was very special for them, because they said they had other twins in their school, but none of them had other twins in their year groups,” she said.
They’re a special little group within themselves, really.
Cairns said that all of the twins are in the same classes, except one set who have been separated since Year 4, noting how strongly linked they all are to one another.
“I’ve noticed how physically connected they were, because one of them had arms link and another was holding hands – you wouldn’t normally see that in Year 7,” she said.
“It was very hard to pull them apart, they were very strongly linked to each other.”
Noting last year’s leadership team, Cairns said that maybe Caroline Chisholm is the place to be for twins in the area.
“It’s extraordinary, and it’s very, very special, especially in an all-girls school,” she said.
“Last year we had identical twin captains, and they were great role models, so I’m excited about it.”

On Monday, we had three of our dance companies compete in the Hawkesbury City Eisteddfod in Windsor. The girls were amazing and had a ball up on stage. Congratulations to our Jazz team for receiving 2nd place and an outstanding score and also to the Hip Hop and Senior Lyrical teams for winning their sections. Well done girls. We are so proud of you!

Lara was commended for her outstanding service, leadership and initiative within our College and the wider community. Our Year 11 Hospitality students put their skills into action at the Alchemy Event, showcasing both food preparation and food and beverage service. Students worked together to prepare, present and serve a range of menu items while demonstrating teamwork, organisation and professionalism. A handful of our Year 12 Hospitality students also joined the team, expertly producing barista-made coffees for guests. It was wonderful to see our students working confidently in a real event setting and taking pride in the quality of their food and service. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Hospitality at Alchemy.

We were honoured to host the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Careers and Pathways Network Meeting at Caroline Chisholm College this week, welcoming colleagues from schools across the Diocese and CSPD Head Office. Kara Oliver and Adam MacNamara from our Partnerships & Pathways team provided a showcase of what's happening at CCC, highlighting the many career opportunities and experiences available to our students. An engaging panel featured CCC students from Years 10-12, who shared their first-hand participation in the numerous programs, partnerships, workplace learning and career opportunities they have embraced throughout their time at the College. They then joined our guests on a tour of our Careers and Pathways spaces, helping to bring to life the way we support students to explore and shape their futures. We were also proudly supported by a talented team of Year 12 Hospitality baristas, alongside their teacher, Mrs Blundell, providing industry-quality food and beverages at the recess break! We couldn't be prouder of all our students for the professionalism, confidence and enthusiasm they demonstrated as ambassadors for our College. Their willingness to share their experiences and represent our community made a real impact - and our guests were incredibly impressed! It was wonderful to welcome colleagues from CSPD, Jarara Cultural Centre, Cerdon College, Delany College, Bede Polding College, Penola Catholic College, St Andrews College, Cathwest Innovation College, St Agnus Catholic High School, St Clare's Catholic High School, St John Paull II Catholic College, Xavier College, St Paul's Catholic College and St Patrick's Marist College. Year 9 student, Hanna, achieved third place over the weekend in Canberra in the National Senior Piano Championship (19 Years and Under section). Competitors were required to perform 2–3 contrasting pieces, with a performance time of a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 12 minutes. We are very proud of Hanna’s achievement, especially given she was competing in an age category open to performers up to 19 years old. Well done Hanna.

We are so proud to share some exciting news from one of our Drama students! Chloe has been part of the Captivate Drama Ensemble for the past two terms. Last Thursday night, Chloe and four other students representing CSDP were selected to perform at the Rebel Theatre for Australian Theatre for Young People. In addition to this news, Chloe recently auditioned for JMC Academy and was accepted for early entry into the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting). What an incredible achievement and recognition of Chloe’s dedication and passion for Drama. We are so proud of her for embracing these opportunities and continuing to develop her skills as a performer. Congratulations, Chloe! We can’t wait to see what you do next!
