Staff and students at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College are well and truly seeing double, with five sets of twins starting this year.
Principal Tania Cairns said she has also only ever seen three sets of twins in one year group before.
“We have had two and I think one year there was three, but not five, so this is really a first, it’s very unusual,” she said.
“I don’t quite know what was in the water back in time when they were conceived, but there was certainly something in the water there!”
With four sets identical and one fraternal, Cairns said having that many twins at the school overall has been just as special for the kids as it is the school.
“Having gathered together last week, they certainly felt like it was very special for them, because they said they had other twins in their school, but none of them had other twins in their year groups,” she said.
They’re a special little group within themselves, really.
Cairns said that all of the twins are in the same classes, except one set who have been separated since Year 4, noting how strongly linked they all are to one another.
“I’ve noticed how physically connected they were, because one of them had arms link and another was holding hands – you wouldn’t normally see that in Year 7,” she said.
“It was very hard to pull them apart, they were very strongly linked to each other.”
Noting last year’s leadership team, Cairns said that maybe Caroline Chisholm is the place to be for twins in the area.
“It’s extraordinary, and it’s very, very special, especially in an all-girls school,” she said.
“Last year we had identical twin captains, and they were great role models, so I’m excited about it.”

On Wednesday evening, we gathered together for our Year 12 Graduation Awards Ceremony, a wonderful celebration recognising the achievements and journey of our graduating Class of 2026. The evening was an opportunity to celebrate our students and acknowledge their dedication, commitment and accomplishments throughout their years at Caroline Chisholm College. We proudly recognised students who achieved First in Course, along with the recipients of our Special Awards, celebrating the many ways our students have contributed to and enriched our College community. As our graduates prepare to take their next steps beyond school, they were reminded of their Year 12 theme: “Now is Your Moment – Embrace the Sprint.” Don’t wait until you feel completely ready. Don’t wait until you feel fearless. Now is your moment. Be brave enough to take the opportunity. Be kind enough to lift others along the way. And be confident enough to be completely, unapologetically you. Your school days may be ending, but your story is only just beginning. What an incredibly special and emotional way to celebrate the final day for our Year 12 students! The day began with a beautiful breakfast, giving our Year 12 students the opportunity to come together, share some laughs and celebrate the friendships and memories they have made over the past six years. Their final Year 12 Assembly was a wonderful trip down memory lane, as students reflected on their journey at Caroline Chisholm College. A special video capturing their highlights over the past six years brought back plenty of memories, followed by a music video from the staff for the Class of 2026. The day continued with their final gathering with the whole College community. A beautiful liturgy and blessing provided a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect and give thanks for their time at Caroline Chisholm, before our Year 7 and Year 11 students formed a guard of honour to farewell them. Walking through the guard of honour for the final time as students of Caroline Chisholm was an emotional and incredibly beautiful way for our Year 12s to finish their time with the student body.

Yesterday, our Year 12 students gathered together for a beautiful Graduation Mass, celebrated by Fr Johnson Joseph, Parish Priest of St Padre Pio Parish. As part of the celebration, each student was presented with a graduation stole, worn as a mark of completing their high school journey and as a sign of their new status as graduates of Caroline Chisholm College. As they now take their next steps beyond our College, our graduates carry with them the values that have guided their time at Caroline Chisholm - Faith, Courage, Tolerance, Dignity, Justice and Compassion. May these values continue to inspire and guide each of them as they begin this exciting new chapter. We are incredibly proud of our Year 12 graduates and wish them every blessing for the journey ahead.

Leaders’ Commissioning Ceremony Yesterday, we proudly gathered as a College community for our Leaders’ Commissioning Ceremony, recognising and celebrating the students who have been entrusted with leadership for the year ahead. The ceremony was a beautiful opportunity to formally commission our student leaders and remind them of the responsibility that comes with serving their peers and College community. We encourage our leaders to lead with Faith, Courage, Tolerance, Dignity, Compassion, and Justice, following in the footsteps of our patron, Caroline Chisholm.
