Making their subject selections is an exciting time for our students.
This is an opportunity to broaden their experiences and follow areas in which they have a passion. We encourage students to make their choices based on:
- interest
- a realistic assessment of skill and ability
- a desire to be challenged
- possible future career goals
Stage 5 (Yrs 9-10) Subject Selection
This will be the first opportunity for your daughter to choose electives from a broad range of subjects. It is extremely important when choosing electives that your daughter thinks carefully about her general interest in the subject and her ability to achieve in the elective. Generally speaking, students perform to the best of their ability when they are doing electives that they find interesting and challenging.
Please read our elective handbook for information on all subjects and making selections.
Stage 6 (Yrs 11-12) Subject Selection
We have a wide range of options available catering for the many needs and aspirations of students including traditional HSC courses, VET subjects and various Trainee and Apprenticeship opportunities.
HSC study at our College is designed to stimulate students to maximise their learning potential and to prepare for their professional future. We work in partnership with students and their parents to assist every learner to make informed decisions about their learning and future pathways.
Have a question around subject selection or HSC requirements? Feel free to contact the College, we're happy to help.
Partnerships and Pathways
At Caroline Chisholm College we are constantly working to keep our students up to date, ready and equipped with the essential skills for the new world of work. Our Partnerships and Pathways Team offer support to students around career exploration, application and resume writing and assistance with further study options.
Caroline Chisholm reaches out to connect with Universities, Businesses, Community Groups and Caroline Chisholm alumni to facilitate our students with the post-school transition. If we can all help our young people find their ‘passion’ and ‘purpose’, the rest will fall into place, and being confident young women they will find their fit in study, work and life.
